Below is a copy and paste of the tracking history for a guitar that was shipped to me on December 13. It was shipped by USPS From Carollton, MO, and is headed for Southeast Alabama. You have to read the history starting at the bottom of the page. From Carollton, MO, north to Des Moines, IA, then south to Kansas City MO, which is 1 hour and 20 minutes west of Carollton. So after 10 days the package is 1 hour and 20 minutes from where it started. I plan on getting it by early spring. :D

It could be worse...

- UPS Mail Innovations...the worst the USPS offers and no real ownership of any issues by UPS

- Orvis let me know that after ten days, my in-stock purchase on the 11th would be delivered sometime in Feb 2022 once the container it was shipped in was found. I am certain all those wonderfully competent supply chain gurus will be on this one once the holidays are over.

- It does not top my Christmas in July last year... one of those nicely spiral-cut hams sent by a friend in December... and delivered the day after the July 4th holiday. I elected not to open that package.

But let's face it...it's the holidays, so lots of things go missing for a bit...sometimes relatives and sometimes entire threads! gaah

lol, a while back I had a small package that started on the east coast get taken all the way to the west coast before coming back to the middle where I am. But that's a bit easier to explain than carrying an entire guitar back and forth :)

And my all-time favorite tracking update, "train derailment"

I used to have a post office two blocks down the street from where I live. That's gone now along with a lot of the other ones they closed over the years. Now if I want to send a simple card to someone in my own town it goes all the way to Greenville NC which is at least 250 miles away then it come back to my town. Insanity at its best.

I finished a guitar last week for a client and we both agreed it's better to wait till after New Years to ship it. Just let things calm down a bit first.
