Guitar Making has evidently gotten quite popular - so much so that Walmart is now involved: https://www.walmart.com/ip/SPRING-PARK- ... K9fY1_8ykU |

From what I understand wal-mart works as a drop shipper from various suppliers which doesn't mean that they actually carry those products in stores. Rather they let a vendor list on their website and then they just fulfill the order. On the weird side. I had never actually run across brass frets for sale so that was kind of cool to see. https://www.walmart.com/ip/19pcs-2-2MM- ... /976785764 |

Think of all the work those "tools" will bring in! The beauty of brass frets is that every time you change the strings you get to change the frets - they might last that long. Even nylon strings will wear out brass frets. They did say they were good for replacing your rusty old frets. |

I'll be the odd man out - it's old tech and too invasive to install since the Ibeam is glued in place reversibility may require a pro to not damage the instrument. |

My choice and what I recommend to our clients is low price solution K&K pure western/mini (excellent for flat pickers) and the Lyric (Baggs) for a great sounding finger style guitar, Anthem (Baggs) also for finger style or flat picking and the Element (Baggs) for what ever you want a UST for. Preamps are also recommended especially for the Anthem. |
