I was listening to Jeff Jewitt yesterday on Michael Bashkin’s podcast. It’s so refreshing to hear someone who really truly knows what they are talking about. It takes a deep knowledge of a given topic to be able to discuss it in simplistic terms, and at the same time give all the necessary details and be clear about what you are saying. While listening I was reminded how many times I’ve read a book, listened to a podcast, watched a video and have identified methods and techniques being shared which I already knew and had first learned from you folks. I see a LOT of bad information being shared in other forums and on social media. Just wanted to send a note. I’m not building at the moment, working through some life stuff, but glad to read the threads and see your builds! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Good on you. We all need to give thanks once in a while to these guys that are our mentors and also the guys like myself and many others that keep the forum alive. |

This is a good place thanks to the members here and that's been a huge factor in improving my ability to build and repair guitars. Compared to many other forums on the internet this one is definitely one of the better ones! |

Let's not forget Lance. This place shows how trickle down values can work. |

Right back at you, Brad! I hope the best for you as you work through whatever life stuff you have going on. If there is anything I can do to help, just say the word. Seriously. I'm very thankful that this is a civil and respectful discussion group, with only rare flare-ups of the discourtesy that is rampant elsewhere. And like Brad, I'm very thankful that I have learned so much from the folks here. |

Agreed. This is a great forum. I have seen a lot of bad ones (not all instrument related) where suspect information get proliferated without much back-up and it just becomes true. This place is great because, even if I share a thought that is not well founded or thought through, someone will come along and clarify it. Another good thing about this place is that when information is corrected, people don’t get all bent out of shape about it. |

Well Brad, I've been looking through the Uke section of OLF, and your builds there have shown me a lot. We are on the opposite ends of precise, tooling, fixture, power tools, but I like to see how others work things out. You are just as much a reason why this forum works, as everyone else in it. We are all in this together. |

I have been hanging out here pretty much from the start when it was so small everyone had a picture and bio in the membership roster. Lots of rookies as was I. I still probably pick up a good tip once every week or two. Thanks Lance wherever you are! |
