Just noticed, now that the SM site is back after maintenance, that on the fret position calculator page the compensation caveat no longer says +/- 0.030", but only that for different action and string gauges "you may need to slightly adjust the locations given" - no guidance is given. Are they frightened of being sued? |

Just a P.S. in case you are not aware, the Mottola site also offers a compensation calculator, which includes inputs for string gauge and action at the 12th fret ++ https://www.liutaiomottola.com/formulae/compensation.htm |

Didn't the old fret calculator only give one value (center point of the saddle) for the compensation? Now I see they are giving a value for bass E and treble e for acoustics. |
