Long time since I have posted anything.... is Tru-oil, as a finish, compatiable with Z-Poxy as a pore filler? Thank you |

It must be avoided or removed prior to application of Truoil, otherwise it will cause a recurring fuzzy feeling no matter what you do, even if you first apply a barrier coat of shellac. Personally, I don’t see any reason to use Z-Poxy when there are other non-amine blush prone epoxies available. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Tru Oil over Z-Poxy is a bad idea. I had fuzziness after a few months on every one I did and had to refinish the necks. |

So are the last 2 posts related? Seems like they could be. I've never had a problem, but I generally let the epoxy harden in a warm dry place (which apparently helps with amine blush. Never have washed it down (wasn't aware of the blush problem) until now, but have yesterday finished a coat and washed the epoxy down with warm water. I did notice a slight difference in the surface texture after wiping it down, it was a less "sticky" feel. |

I have not had any problems. What do you mean by fuzziness? |

I had not heard about amine blush before, but I definitely know about the fuzziness of which you speak. A few months after the guitar was finished it was as though I had raised the grain on the neck then applied a coat of finish over top. It wasn't sharp enough to catch skin. But there was no choice to sand it all off and refinish. Good to know that it was the combination of zpoxy and truoil. |
