Post subject:  My Brazilian OM

I started this guitar pre-covid, if you can believe it. I shut down building because I was swamped with repairs, and we had, oh, 3 or 4 hurricanes, I try to forget.
I glued the bridge today, so early next week God willing, I'll have it strung up, if this other tropical thing will stay away.
Red Spruce top, 4 piece back. Wood acquired in the early 90's, imported mid 70's thru McBeath in San Fran. Neck wood acquired in the mid-70's, Coco binding, Bose d'Rose fretboard, Brazilian bridge. My wife said to use up all my best wood before I die!

That is a fine looking guitar!
I agree with your wife completely - use up every last stick of those "special woods". Don't leave them for the vultures to pick over. bliss

I’m still dealing with dead trees after the deep-freeze in central Texas.

Looks to be a beauty! I'm betting it's gonna sound decent too, but Brazilian and Red Spruce is a risky combination...!

Man that's going to be an excellent box. Send a pic of it strung up and sitting outside in the bright light. One of these days I'm going to journey to the big city and see if I can get a "factory tour" of your place. Not to date myself, but I used to live on Elgie when I was at Lamar, 70-74.

Thanks all.
It has been strung up and playing a week now. I check on it every other day or so, to hear how it is growing. It has the "Brazilian tone" I was hoping for, and if it grows like I expect, it should be exceptional. The neck has pulled up like I wanted, with just a light turn on the single action truss rod, it has relief. I am not showing it yet, so I won't have to answer questions about "when" and "how much". I'm going to exercise it for a while, grow it a bit, then do a bit more French polish before I attempt to sell it.
Any guesses what a mature builder can ask for a Brazilian OM in the "new economy"?

David, it's beautiful. Congratulations. I'm building my first OM and I've misplaced my data sheet listing the top and back radii for the OM model (clone).

Can you help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Beautiful guitar. Bindings are easy on the eyes.

I have some BRW strips that are about 1/4" X 3" wide I'm considering gluing up. It's the only way I'll ever build with Brazilian.
