Clay said that with care, a Spanish Cedar neck can wear well. I guess dropping it on who knows what isn't good care! I already used water and heat; this is what is left. It already seems thin to me; at 13/16" or so, and pretty flat, it feels flimsy in my hand compared to the deep Vee I have on the Arch top. That neck goes from maybe 7/8 to 1". The sides are as thin as this one. I even have the baroque that shape because it fit the vee joint on the head. I'm making this one like this, because that's what the plan has. Who knows, maybe I'll like it?

I could patch it easily. Maybe not perfectly, but it isn't hard to do.

Is that what you would do?

That can be steamed out. Take a damp rag and place it over the divot. Touch a hot soldering iron on top of the ding and let the steam do its thing. Two or three times should bring it up to near level.

Yeah I know you said you already tried it but I would go with Barry's advice and try again. You can use a cloths iron too. If you use a solder gun use a wide tip. That's big enough I would probably use the iron. Steam it real good.

More water and more heat. Repeat.
