I'm doing a crack repair on a '90s kamaka which I think is nitro. Using CA like normal, but when I go to scrape it I noticed some of the areas around and under where I put the ca are gummy. Did not notice any gumminess before I started. I did use Napa and a toothbrush to clean out the area as I was initially super gluing slivers in the crack area. Could that have caused the gumminess? What to do? Gummyness in Seattle |

How old is your CA? Over time it absorbs water and gets thick. That's why I buy new bottles every year, and toss the old ones. Fresh glue is a MUST, no matter what type. |

I just started using Gluboost accelerator. I do like the performance, but it can temporarily soften old nitrocellulose lacquer. In my experience, the lacquer will harden back up after a few hours. My old standby accelerator is Insta Set in a squirt bottle. It does not soften lacquer, but it will cause some super glues to blush (turn white or milky). Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk |

So I scraped off most of the gummy and let the area harden. Then I put some new Gluboost fill n finish on and let it dry overnight. Most of it is hard but the area that was gummy, the ca did not harden! Hmm.... Pat |
