Drew Fisher has some pretty interesting youtube videos. The first jig in this video is for cutting thin strips consistently. A couple of modifications and making it longer with another hold down or two and a featherboard would likely work well for bindings. I realize there are many other ways and jigs but this one caught my eye.

I found the same idea and made it long enough for fretboard bindings with the same idea for a longer one for body bindings that I haven't mad yet. It works great and mine was easier to make.
