buffed out fp with paint thinner and waxed. then filled void at bindings with ca glue. Would not bond. Then tried 3# cut shellac and it would not also.

Later applied fp with transtint to shade darker. Sill have bonding problems. using Green al as solvent and chips/orange zinzer.

What causes bonding problems in shellac? I thought each layer dissolved into former.

If you are saying you buffed and waxed and then went back to finishing processes, the wax is probably your problem. You'll have to figure out a way to remove all the wax. Possibly naptha and clean soft cloths till the wax is picked up. You'll have to change rags frequently or you will just spread it around. Test somewhere inconspicuous of course.

i did not realize the wax would be that hard to remove. Wiped with naptha and then mineral spirits.
