I've always just skipped over them, because they all seem to be car-sized, which means I would have to use it outside, and that's not what I want to do. Someone with more outside space and a better climate, or a very large garage, might find them ideal, though.

Another idea that really intrigued me for a short while is a grow tent. One of the 5'x5' tents would give a person just enough room for themselves and a guitar. They come with ventilation holes and various flaps. I wound up not going down this road, but I bet someone could make it work.

Doesn't look like they make small ones. Then, what happens if power fails? Saw something that made me think one of those pop up canopies with side walls might work. Modified with a blower and a filtration system??

But this was what I was really thinking of in combo with first two items. Put a filter over the "window", add filter box with 8" hole through one of the sides.

I think in a pinch it would work just fine. Many years ago, I used to finish with waterborne finishes and sprayed inside the shop with a filter box setup. I wanted to try nitro for a couple bandura re-dos so couldn't spray in the basement. I basically built one of those in my garage from 2x4's and wrapped it in tarps. Had the filter box setup inside the thing. Worked fine but was a pain to build, setup, and tear down.

Having seen this idea now, I wish I would have just bought one of those instead of messing around with an idiotic frame from 2x4s. My setup leaked a lot of dust into the garage so if you do go down that path, make sure you tape up any holes, gaps between panels etc.

For spraying outside a small table to put the guitar body and neck on and a large cardboard box to put over top of them works O.K. When spraying, allowing the overspray to dissipate is more easily done al fresco. After spraying (which only takes a couple of minutes for a guitar) placing a clean cardboard box over top of the work keeps leaves and bugs out of the finish while it dries.

The more I think about it, the more I'm liking the idea (canopy, above) with blower box, blower and hose.
