It usually takes me between 4 to 6 hours to fit a dovetail on one of my archtop guitars. It’s just one of those things you can’t rush. It has to be perfect or else all my work was in vain... ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks good! The way I approach dovetail fitting, and other difficult luthiery tasks, is that it will take as long as it takes to do it right. |

Do you finish with the neck on or was this just a trial fit? Looks nice. |

Was going to be my question too - looks like you cleaned up a glued joint. Do you find finishing, leveling, and polishing to be difficult in that area? Ed |

Ed It's certainly not as easy as having the neck unattached , but I am so used to doing it that it is not much more difficult to me. |
