My current supplier(edge mfg) pulled their online catalog off and discontinued their co(sawblde express) to amalgamate their operations . So they want us to wait for another month for their online catalog and then order by Phone. I have 6 Bandsaws that I need blades for ., Checked out bandsaw blades direct . I had ordered a ct blade from them in the past, several yrs ago , and it broke twice and had to be rewelded. Any thoughts on a reliable, reasonably priced supplier of good bs blades. Thanks in advance.

Ernie, If you have 6 bandsaws, you might think about buying coil stock and making your own for anything under 1/2". Larger is doable, but small blades are easy. Big savings. You don't need a welder. Brazing with propane or MAP works just fine, in fact it works better than welding. I've been brazing blades for local woodworkers for over 30 years and they seldom break. Having your own coil stock will cause you to change blades when they are dull, instead of when they break. Sharp blades are great!--Bob

Thats a good idea bob.. didnt think of that one!. Is there a supplier from the mainland that you prefer? 4 of the bandsaws take 3/8in blades 10 in craftsman, 9 in ryobi , 12in craftsman , and 12in delta. Or, do you get your coil stock from a wholesaler or e bay ?? . I like to use vy thin blades on the 2 smaller saws. We also have a mini max s 45 takes 5/8or / 3/4in blades and the laguna takes 1 in or 1 .25 in blade Thanks,

Ouch. I have never paid anywhere close to that for shipping from spectrum. Went on their web site just now and they want 38 shipping USPS for 3 blades and that is the cheapest option. Maybe something is wrong with their shipping calculator? I have always ordered over the phone.

PPS . I got a fone call this aft from SS and yes it was a computer error. No one at SS answered the phone yesterday , so I ordered online , thats where the calculator went awry. I wound up paying $30 for the shipping this aft, If u return to the forum BOB I/m still interested in learning where to buy the coil stock ? . John you were correct . I thought that shipping cost seemed vy high.

Ordered 5-6 times from SS and the shipping given is always higher than actual. Estimate of sorts.

I called them (spectrum) 2 weeks ago and only got a reply that they got my order . Contacted them again Monday , and they said no more welds. So who knows , they could be temporarily not working due to the virus.
