Post subject:  Z-poxy pore-fill over some lacquer in pores?

I am getting ready to pore fill with z-poxy for the first time.
I recently sanded this guitar back after spraying lacquer due to some mishaps during the spraying stages..
I didn't do the best job with the original pore-fill and want to take advantage of this time to use zpoxy.

I've sanded back everything to raw wood, but there are some shiny spots INSIDE the pores from the previous lacquer coats (I am using black limba, deep pores).
Is it okay to go ahead and apply the epoxy over everything at this point?

Lacquer does stick to epoxy according to many. I have never tried it. I use a vinyl sealer over the epoxy then nitro but, as a guess, I'd say yes, it will work. Others here may actually know. At any rate, I would make sure the lacquer is completely dry, before applying the epoxy. I use cardinal lacquer. With that, I'd say wait three weeks if the drying conditions are good. (75-80 degrees most of the day, moderate RH). If not then longer. The material you are using may be different. Good luck

Not a problem. I’ve done it several times without issue.

Should work fine.
