Made a trip to Home Cheapo today and they had something I had not seen before - A table with a hand crank for raising and lowering the top. The top is a butcher block of unknown wood type. It varies between 26 and 38", and when you add the included 3-1/2" reasonable quality casters, it it 29-1/2 to 41-1/2. Here it is now: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-52-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-with-2-Drawers-in-White-HOLT5202BJ2/311742117?mtc=Shopping-BA-F_PB-G-D25T-25_28_COMPRESSORS_AND_AIR_TOOL-Husky-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-Compressors_And_Air_Tool_BT3&cm_mmc=Shopping-BA-F_PB-G-D25T-25_28_COMPRESSORS_AND_AIR_TOOL-Husky-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-Compressors_And_Air_Tool_BT3-71700000045008692-58700004650922073-92700039927177507&gclid=CjwKCAiA66_xBRBhEiwAhrMuLQaFr7m7C08jXMLEfUFfomIXpr80jEs4D2Xd_gkxnxeQsEVRsIA_khoCRNwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Ed |

I saw one assembled at Lowe's. I gave it a wiggle and had a chuckle. Not very sturdy at all. |

Two things: 1. I wouldn’t necessarily draw my conclusions about the product based on a floor model that the Lowe’s workers put together. I have seen floor models at the big box stores that were very badly assembled. Some folks just don’t like following the instructions . . . 2. Having said that, I do think that I would be careful to kick the tires in person, look past the bad assembly, and make sure the product would hold up to your expected usage. I looked at the Husky line when I needed to buy tool cabinets, and I went with the US General line at Harbor Freight instead. Significantly higher quality. Add in the moving parts needed to raise and lower the work surface, and I would worry about the Husky table being sturdy enough. Caveat emptor. |

I got one from home depot a few months ago. Rock solid! It's currently being used as a desk during our remodel. But it will end up in the shop soon. |

The one I saw that started this thread was at a Home Cheapo and did not have the casters installed. You could bump it with your hip fully raised and it was very solid. The top did not move when putting a bit of weight on the dge. Not bad. Ed |
