SM dropped Menzerna for their own brand of who knows what... Now I see Jescar is dropping it as well. Where else do you guys get your Menzerna compound? |

Hi Brian, Quick Question - I've only ever used the StewMac Colortone Buffing Compound. It has worked well for me but is the Menzerna any better? Jescar seems to be a pretty good company, Have you heard anything about the new line they just released ? |

I thought it was interesting that Jescar gave a 1-1 mapping of their new GlanzMax (dislike the name BTW) line to the Menzerna line. Reading the announcement and looking at the packaging it almost looks more like a rebranding than a new product line. It would be easy to think that Jescar owned Menzerna and was just rebranding. That’s not the case, correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Rebrand? I dunno... Why? Menzerna is an industry standard. I wondered if SM was doing that. I imagine these are asian instead of german made replacements. Not necessarily bad... I have used it a long time with nothing but good results and it is a known in my process. I know exactly how much to sand what and when and when I can switch compounds without needing to jump back. And another thing I know about finish work, the seemingly small changes will cost you greatest most times. |

I JUST got in a Menzerna bar from Jescar, so I checked their site just now. If you scroll down the Glanzmax page and see where they match the product to a Menzerna- the Menzerna is a hyperlink to that product and you can order from there. Seems it doesn't have it's own page anymore. |

Hmm, wonder why they didn't call it glanzerna? I'm not crazy about the name either. Sounds like one of those "made for tv" advertisements. |

I agree, Joe. The name is pretty bad. It's interesting how a good name can impact perception of quality. BTW, I've been trying to reach you without success - nothing important, just wanted to check-in since it's been a while. -- Simon |
