Yes it’s just the back but I’m super stoked to have a compete pore fill! I’ve always THOUGHT I did it right, but this time it clicked.
The pic is immediately following a naphtha rubdown.
It’s ZPoxy fill . The finish looks like it needs to be EM6000;)
Nice when something works isn’t it

I really struggled with pore filling when I was a new builder. So much so that I very nearly lost interest in Lutherie over it since I was not satisfied with my first couple of failed attempts at it.

When I finally got it with System III and later z-Poxy and finally West it made my life so much better and restored my interest in building (and finishing).

It's a milestone for a builder for sure and it certainly was for me.

I tried traditional Lutherie fillers and hated them struggling with the burlap rub pulling the crap out of the pores. Pumice and egg whites was messy and not as reliable with my technique or lack of same...

Good going, I remember the feeling and pride of having a perfectly level, filled surface so that I could move on to the plethora of other stuff to master.

Funny, I'd take egg whites over epoxy any day, what a nightmare! But what ever works for each individual. My go to pore filler is CA these days and I always sand back to wood, again, what ever works!

Looks good Snow, almost looks like it's already finished. Love the grain in the Sapele too.
