Post subject:  Side abalam purfling

Hello all, I have done abalam top purfling a few times. Easy enough. When using it on sides, where you would have to crack/snap it against the shell face, does it hold together ok? Is it even used on side purfling? Appreciate the help.

This is the perfect application for ZipFlex. There's a shot towards the end showing it being used for side purf.

I use ablam and solid shell. I have used sip flex but still like old school. If your doing Martin style the side pearl is .049 wide. I get it from Custom Pearl inlay for ablam he also supplies the poly strips and solid shell from Depaulle
