Hi folks, Anyone have experience with the Grizzly beveled edge straight edges? They are on sale right now and I may pick one up. Just wondered if anyone has used them. Seems a good price and according to their catalogue the accuracy is 0.001" and resolution (whatever that means) is 1/64. The 12", 24" and 36" are on sale. |

That looks like the igaging product. It is graduated to 64ths of an inch. I have a few of these and they seem very good for the price. B |

I noticed LMI sells a 30" but it is polycarbonate and apparently they could possibly "cold flow" under certain conditions. That basically means warp as far as I can tell by the definitions. |

Yep, they're good, especially for beginners since you get 3 tools in one. A straightedge, a ruler with fine graduations, and the back edge makes a nice fence to run a knife along for slicing purflings and such. I think the tolerance on the 36" was listed as 1.5 thou when I bought mine for a different web site years ago, and that seems about right. It's possible that they've improved since then, but I suspect the .001" listed on Grizzly is lacking precision |
