There are a lot of discussions here about finishes/ finish thickness/ the need for finishes and whatever. I wanted to share a few pics of my favorite guitar to play. When I restring I always give a cleaning and this time I thought dang... that looks good. This is number 208 from Ed. It is a walnut back and sides and I THINK lutz top, can’t remember. Slope D 12 fret. It is VERY responsive, and every time someone pics it up they say “wow”. I feel like this “naked” finish HAS to add to the guitars sound. I you feel every note wherever it touches you. So Ed, hats off she’s still going strong and sounds amazing. In summary, can a simple satin finish look great? Ummmm yea. It's probably those strings you got on it, lightening the top even more! |
