So I tried using 2k finish for the first time (it was not for a guitar, but tables at a coffee shop. I wanted the table finish to be durable so they bought some and we brushed it on). What I notice is it gets rather sticky sorta fast, and once it cures, it's inert. So the question is, how are you supposed to spray more than 1 coat of the stuff without whiteness lines? Or are you supposed to spray one very thick coat? |

Typically spray 2 -3 coats 15-30 minutes apart. It will bond chemically yet at that point. The TDS from the coating maker should supply detailed info on recoat windows etc. |

The one I used didn't really have any sheet that I know of. It's simply 2 cans with a drawing of a car on it. So when I recoat 15-20 minutes apart do I have to clean out my spray gun completely between each coat? As in does the paint inside the gun gel up in 15 minutes as well? It looks like based on how thick the paint goes on (even thinned) that I really don't need to do more than 3 coats. |
