Has anyone tried to make acrylic dots out of a blank with a plug cutter? I tried to get a blank that didn't have too many swirls in it so that it would look more natural. I have a 1/4" plug cutter and thought I'd give it a try. Would I be better off with MOP? Any thoughts or comments?

I've made wooden dots using a plug cutter (pretty decent quality from Veritas). They worked well. Don't see any reason it wouldn't work with acrylic as long as you use a slow speed to cut so the plug cutter doesn't get hot and melt the plastic.

You might consider starting with rods and slicing off the dots.
