Here is the latest Luthier Tips du Jour video. - In this video I show how to fix action on a classical guitar that is too high but there is not enough saddle exposed to allow it. This video as well as all my other videos are available via my website, http://www.obrienguitars.com/videos , LMI's website or on youtube.

one option I've used many times.
Drill the bridge to make a 12 hole-Take a 1/8"or 3/16- dowel-drill a hole in the end (very exactly) to except a 1/16 drill bit, make sure the dowel& drill bit reach the bridge -so that the new holes can be drilled
PROTECT the top from damage-- MARK ! the new drill spot with a sharp tool.
The new holes have to be 2-3mm from the original holes.
& lower on the tie block.
this will allow you to lower the saddle block & saddle.
Now the strings will NOT be pulled up & ride over the saddle.
WHY?
The sting will be tied to the saddle block-with NO lift from the old style tie.
