With a satin finish I sometimes have used SMs transparent mylar and used 1200 grit on an ROS |

I've been doing something similar to Colin. Still trying to find the right grit or steel-wool combination to match the satin. But I find as long as the gloss is removed from the pickguard it doesn't show much. No aware of a ready made source. |
