If you are looking for cheap and fast, Old English comes in light and dark. People don't generally expect wood in a house to look like a new guitar. Wipe off all the old english that you can. Wipe the whole surface up to any edge where your eye expects to see a color/gloss change. After a day or two, wax the area if it has a gloss finish. The advice to spray lacquer only applies if the item has a visible smooth finish look. Lots of modern wood is finished with a thin open-grain look, and so doesn't need to be fixed as if it were a guitar. |
