Yes, but you will need a stew Mac Precision Pinger to go along with it.

New username, same Pat Mac

Looks like it would basically be an FFT app...

The last paragraph mentions a person who was "part of the code development team". I'll bet she -was- the code development team. I'll bet those old white guys don't have a clue how to write an app. At least she wasn't totally shut out by the university system. pfft

I understand your reaction to the article, but fortunately, those typical type of problems don't appear apply in this case. According to another article, none of the three in the photo did the coding. Songyi Han is a PhD grad student and she "worked mostly on researching how to market such an app and found coders to build it". http://www.starkvilledailynews.com/node/125601 One of the two old white guys (Franca) got his PhD in 2017 so not so old really.

Anyway, according to the other article, the output of the app in terms of stiffness is qualitative only. "Results are given on a color scale, with red representing low stiffness, yellow representing medium and green representing high. A gray reading is a suggestion to test a second time." The photo of the app display on a phone in the first article shows a Hz value so maybe that could be used in a calculation for a guitar top? I wonder how tightly the app is tied to analysis of dimensional lumber and Douglas fir and Southern pine.

And I want to see that StewMac Precision Pinger...

So as usual, none of the people who actually created the app got the credit..... laughing6-hehe

Correctamundo. Describing those three as "the code development team" appears to be a teeny weeny bit generous.
