I am using the LMI one way truss rod & having the adjustment at the peghead. In his video he mounts it low for that installation & puts in a very thin shim. But when mounted where you adjust at the heal he just keeps it flush with no shim. Can't I just do it without a shim?

Link to the video or product page?

You can probably do it without a shim, but I'd like to see exactly what it is you're working with.
