My shop is a 24' x 24' garage, petitioned down the middle, South end is insulated, visqueened and drywalled. I keep that side heated, cooled and humidity controlled. The other half has the table saw, router table and al the other stuff. In there i store billets and logs that I plan to resaw one day. Inside the actual shop, I store sawn back and side sets under one of the benches. Under another bench is my brace material in plastic bins. Pieces too small to save are stashed under a bench in a box. Violin sets are on top of a big cabinet. No matter how big you make your shop, it ain't big enough.

Here’s what I’ve got. My entire shop is conditioned so I can get away with having it all out in the main space. I’m not loosing and floor space by having it up high. It’s also really easy to pull down a set and be able to put it back where you found it or put the set on the “builds in progress” shelf.

Best, M

My wood storage is one corner of a basement root cellar that is primarily used as my wine cellar. Wines and woods seem to like the same things, cool temps and medium humidity, and sometimes when I go down to get a bottle of cabernet for dinner I'll look over and see a hunk of wood and get inspired to build something. Or vice versa

Mostly like Michaeldc except not as tidy. If the wood is 'dry',and humidity controlled, then like books on a shelf. For wood that still needs
drying, I sticker and keep to one side so I don't accidentally use it in a build.

Very nice Michael, but are they arranged in alphabetical order?

I would like to have a setup like that. How deep are those shelves?

I can barely spell, so no on them being in alphabetical order.

The supports are 24” deep and stand about 4” off the wall so a standard side set will hang past the leading edge about 4”. I can draw you a quick diagram of what I did during the meeting if you like.

See you Tuesday, M
