I have one of those and it is definitely one of my favorites. For Christmas I got permission to do some upgrades around the shop - woo hoo.

Got the parts to make a downdraft table. I got it (and built it) last night. It’s a little taller than normal because of the 6” dust port, but works great.

But here is what it’s really all about... the boy putting together his droid while wearing his new coat indoors. :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

If it is what I think it is then it's a LN Violin Makers plane

Mine is a Quangsheng Luban 101, similar to the LN.

I got the L-V grinder jig for grinding plane and chisel bevels, and 2 big diamond plates (and some chocolate). No underwear this year.

Scored a 2 Cherries curves chisel for scalloping and that nifty stewmac vice for holding bridges and such.:)

We had a great dinner with family last night and a wonderful morning exchanging gifts with our daughter. No tools under the tree for me this year but I did receive a nice belt, which I needed because my old belts no longer fit me--they're too big! [:Y:]

I got one of these Iwasaki rasp/file things. I tried one out at woodcraft a while ago and really liked it. Its teeth aren’t really like a rasp or a file, it is almost like a float. It takes a minute to get used to a good angle of attack but it removes hardwood faster than my rasp and leaves a much smoother surface. Shaping heels and volutes just got a whole lot faster.

Note: thos is a small curved file not as big as a cabinet rasp.
