For those who inlay dots as position markers on the face of the fretboard (not side dots), what diameter do you use? Thanks in advance. |

1/16 for one brand, 1/8 for the other. |

For the face of the fretboard I use 1/4". Makes it trivial to install them with a 1/4" brad point bit. |

6mm or 1/4 inch however you want to call them for pearl and 5mm for abalone.no particular rationale other than they were what was available and were big enough but not too big. |

6mm here If it is a 2 dot area I use 5mm I feel it’s less crowded that way Right now I’m doing a Gibson sort of build and using 7mm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Like Steve, I prefer smallish dots and typically go with 5/32" or 3/16" sizes. |
