I don't think this is a good idea for instrument makers. Epoxy is not tone, and looking at nice tonewoods is fun!

Hey, maybe I can build a bowl back guitar with that and keep fish in it!

Unless you play on your back, the fish and water would spill out of the soundhole.

I stand corrected! And this is how the fishbowl guitar was born.

. . . I figure the fishbowl guitar would be great for playing scales. If I take it to a gig, I'm afraid I would tank or flounder. You would have to use herringbone for the purfling. And yes, the braces would be applied using fish glue. I love how these ideas bubble up to the surface.

Oh cod here we go with the fish puns; I'll take the bait. I wonder if you could tuna guitar like that. It might be better to make it a bass.

Waterbased, for sure.

I almost feel embarrassed for taking that bit of low hanging fruit.

And all the songs played on the fishbowl guitar must be in the key of sea.

I think you would have to play a lot of choral music on the fishbowl guitar.

I'm hooked.

Stop being Koi, you know you would use shell-ak. Naturally you would dissolve the flukes yourself.

I see they solved the leaking bridgepin holes by using a TAILpiece.

Maybe Vince Gill would play a fishbowl guitar.

I wonder if someone could make a bass the same way.

Someone on the Warmoth forum (where I found the story) suggested it would be great for fingerboards so you could tell the exact moment you broke the truss rod when overtightening.
