Here is a tool maker that makes some interesting tools and many replacement parts for Stanley stuff

https://www.stjamesbaytoolco.com

I have bought several parts for vintage tools from them over the last 10 years and have heard good things about their infill plane kits, but just now noticed the luthier tools

If you want to go down that rabbit hole, here's another
http://www.traditional-handplanes.com/

Luckily he doesn't do any luthier type tools, yet.

I bought some luthier vln planes from them in the late 90/s unimpressive IMHO unless their quality has changed

Absolutely agree with Ernie. Bought a squirrel plane for around $100 and change around 2005. Eventually got rid of it and bought Lie-Nielsen. Nowhere near the same quality. Stick with Lie-Nielsen or Veritas -- trust me, it is worth the extra money.
