Friends- I'm looking for a supplier that might have some tracking parts for my Sunhill sander. Sunhil no longer exists. Any tools that have electric eyes and air valve ( not air stream) tracking might have similar parts. Any ideas for suppliers appreciated.--Thanks, Bob

Ebay may be your friend. It is surprising how much industrial tooling is on there.

Clay -Thanks. I did find the little electric eye reflector on the web. The other part which controls the air side to side tracking is more difficult. -Bob

Hi Bob,
You could also try asking for help on the woodweb and sawmill creek. They might have a source for parts and be able to troubleshoot the problem.

Thanks for the ideas guys and Pat mine is a SDS-25. Great machine. Going for nearly 18 years tens of thousands of lineal feet of wood.

Bob , If I remember, was Sunhill a wa state based company in the early 90/s ?I got some table saw rails from them for my UNION TS in LA in 1991 that I bought in vancouver bc. in 1985. I believe these were generic parts made by multiple factories in Taiwan in the 80/s 90 /s. You might check Grizz, and other companies that sell Taiwan products. It seems that there are a multitude of folks who made these products in Taiwan, and labelled them with whatever overseas label was required e.g. Rexon , sunhill. union, lobo. grizzly etc. Hope this helps.

Ernie, Thanks. I did find a supplier for the parts. Sunhill was a great company in Washington State.. When you called them for parts the owner would get on the phone and it was hard to get him off the line. He wanted to thank you for buying one of his machines and wanted to know all about what you did with it. He took great pride in his machines and company service. When he died i was amazed that no one took over. One of the salesman tried to briefly move it to Calif., but that failed.--Bob

Good , that you found parts BOB I still have the TS rails that I bought from sunhill for my union TS , except the TS has been repurposed to cut template guided fret sawing.Too bad about the owner passing away. I have a large woodmaster 38in single drum sander. But will soon graduate to a timesaver or , as the wood master has only 80 grit paper , and changing grits is a PITA and since I am 71 next week , Am always looking for an easier way. Hope you get the sunhill repaired cheers from the mainland.
