Anyone here use the WEN drum sander from Home Depot?

Looks just like the small Grizzly, only a different color. Might work OK if you are only doing smaller pieces - ukes and such. But the bracket on the end won't allow you to flip the top/back to get the full width in the way an open ended drum sander will.

I've been patiently waiting for a used one to come up in my area. Montana does not have a big tool resale market!

Might work if the unit didn't flex too much when the open end unit is removed. Personally, I used to set my old Jet 16-32 at a slight angle for a tapered top and back.

I was wondering if you could remove that support bracket

I think most guitar builders who buy a 10-20 type drum sander eventually buy a wider one. I have a 16-32 which is O.K. for my level of production (amateur- build when I want to- usually have something in the works). For the price of a new Wen you can probably find a used 25 inch drum sander.

I have the jet 10-20 and love it.
It really isn’t an issue to adjust it so that you get a VERY VERY minimal sand line which is easily scraped or sanded off.
Mine is paired with a shop vac and a dust deputy and it does a fantastic job at everything I ask of it:)
