OK, finally ready to locate the bridge on Build #1. Yeah! Wondered if I'd ever get to this stage. Got it figured out how to go about it, but the question is shop condition. With this crazy weather, I went out after lunch and it had cooled off to 60 degrees and 43% humidity. Tomorrow I can get the temp up to 70, but the humidity is tougher. Will do what I can, but 40-45 may be it for right now. So my big question is, how critical is this when locating the bridge? I went through the process of having a back bend the wrong way before I rehumidified it, so am familiar with how much it matters. Just wondering on laying out the bridge location. Any ideas? |

Temperature isn't so important, it's the relative humidity you need to worry about. 43% is a fine place to work at. Between 40-45% is where most of us work at. So if your bridge and body are in that range together you should be fine. |

Good deal, thanks. I was thinking it more like 50-55%, so this should work. Fingers crossed, this one is getting close... |

No worries. Wood does not shrink or swell in the grain direction. |
