I got so much out of John's seminars at the last couple of GAL's - recommend it to anyone who can get there. I can't but wish I could.

(a little anecdote - my wife and I were sitting in his seminar on selecting woods for tops - tapping and flexing and all the ritual. He had three different guitars built out of sister sets of the woods that he was tapping, alike in every other way. My wife turned to me at one point and said "I CAN hear the differences, I'm starting to understand what you are doing out in your shop" I told her I was trying to understand what I was doing out in my shop.)

It's on my calendar. I had a nice time at the dinner last month and have been looking forward to this event ever since.

Fast track it. I'll come pick you up. ;) I have a lot of respect for John Greven. Would be fun to meet some more NW folks. This is very tempting.

Kevin at Gurien Instruments besides hosting us is usually open to giving a tour of the barge as well.

I could get over there early if anyone wants to meet up ahead of time. Tuesday is taco night at The Sloop, an iconic vestige of old Ballard! http://theslooptavern.com/

Even the best case option makes it a non-starter, next time maybe...

I've never had their tacos but I like tacos, so ... idunno

Two out of three
Bald head: check
Grey beard: also, check
Thick glasses: only when not wearing contacts

I'm going to try! I'm long overdue for a SLG and it would be fun to meet you other OLFers. Seems like there is a nice little local group of active acoustic guitar builders posting here.

I will confirm on this thread by afternoon.
