I never want to move my house and my shop at the same time ever again. This week has been tough...... But all my stuff is now at my new location in Delaware. Now to turn a vacant building into a guitar shop!

I’ll be very interested in your progress, Brian. My wife and I are about to sell a house and go buy a different house, and a lot of the houses we are looking to buy have freestanding garages just like yours that could be my shop.

That was me about 4 years ago. Yup it's a total PIA. Looks like a nice little shop space. I converted an old barn in the back of the house we bought. Lots and lots of work but well worth it when it's done. Good luck.

Brian, I can sure sympathize with you and share the frustration and apprehension of moving home and shop. I am currently in the midst of the same thing and while I don't even have our next home/shop found or even sold our existing property yet, I am already stressed beyond our natural limits and awake and close each day with dull, nagging anxiety. Good on you for getting through the tough stuff.

" I am already stressed beyond our natural limits and awake and close each day with dull, nagging anxiety."

A book you might want to read: " How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie . I think it's a PDF now.

It's one of those stupid self help books that I found in the pile of rubble of a house I had to finish demolishing and load into a dumpster many years ago when I only had my own two hands and no money to accomplish it otherwise. It helped me see things from both a short and long term perspective and focus on things of immediate concern.
And then there are the word's a friends Grandmother used say to us; "Don't worry about the future - you can't possibly imagine how bad things are going to be" bliss

I am in Magnolia Delaware. Minutes south of Dover and just a mile off route 1.

Still gotta sell the place in PA but the market there is good and I have had realtors calling me so here is hoping to a quick and profitable sale.

No permanent internet just yet but the house and my private studio are set up and I have started some work on the shop but it will be weeks until I am back to work. But I already have local customers with work in progress from the old shop and more work on hold to be shipped in when I have a place to deal with it.

Joe, it took us almost a year of scouting properties and 2 deals that fell through at the midnight hour before we landed here. Not everything we wanted but it checks off all the big ones on the list like single floor living, separate shop that is zoned commercial and just 5-10 minutes from my brother. Stay at it and it will happen, my secret has been to concentrate on one phase at a time. so I do not get overwhelmed.......Never been so far on a limb as this and never felt better so I know this is the right way.
