I started a new concept – The express series.
Trying to hit a lower price point I basically stripped down the guitar to little or no ornamentation using mostly domestic woods,Satin lacquer finish (straight from the gun).
Then the customer can add in the options he wants.

On this commission I’ve used quartersawn cherry for the back, sides and neck.
Indian Rosewood for the fretboard bridge and head veneer which are included in the base price.
The customer upgraded to a slot head and Adirondack Redspruce for the top.

Is the neck made from Cherry (2 ply)?

Yes, it is a 2 piece cherry neck.

Yes, I really like them. They recently added the polished nickel option.

Very good looking. Why the tailpiece?

Nice! Do you like how it sounds? I have had some Cherry Seagulls through that were very nice.

This is a Stella style (repro) guitar. Stella made
them with and without the tailpieces. It has a different sound than a pin bridge
Just another variation .....

It's really nice. Do you mind sharing the cost range of your Express series?

BTW: I tried to hit what I *think* is your site but it doesn't load: http://www.goodmanguitars.com/

It sounds really nice. Out of all that I made in that style, I would say it was in the top as far as sound, I only had it for a few weeks before I shipped it to my customer so it was still opening up...

I love the cherry-very stable, pretty light, low cost and bends like butter.

The base price on the Express series is $2800. plus shipping

That includes various domestic non figured woods(Cherry, maple, etc.) for back sides and neck (paddle head), Stew Mac tuners and (med. grade) Sitka spruce for the top.
No rosette and single line abs binding, no head veneer and Indian rosewood fretboard with MOP dots and a basic hard case. Satin lacquer finish (no rubbing)

So, in the example shown the options are:

Adirondack red spruce top $200.
slot head $200.
rosewood head veneer $100.
Goodman head decal: $ 50.
3 line ABS rosette: $150.

Which brings the total to $3500. plus shipping.

Nice, Brad. Wish I would have had the time to use some cherry. Can you make any comparisons to mahogany on the big Stella 12's?
I tried to "cheapen" my F5C mandolins, and had some success with that.
When are you going to try Larsons and laminated bracing? Ought to be right up your alley, musically...

I haven't built a mahogany one in a while, but I would say the sound of the cherry is very similar.

This guitar came out relatively light for such a large instrument

This particular. cherry is a little denser than most of the mahogany I have used.

I have thought about the laminated bracing however,

I build so many different models and am trying to hone in on "signature" sounds for each of them,so I try not to add more variables.

Great looking 12 string. Would love to hear a soundclip if the owner can post one. The simple design really adds to build. Do you offer a pin bridge version? And where do you source your decal?
Yet another Brad posting.

This is actually from a different guitar that I still have my shop but basically the same as the one I’m showing here.

Hey Brad #3,

If you go on YouTube and do a search and say Brad Goodman guitar you’ll find several clips of me playing similar instruments.

Yes I also do a pin bridge version of that
Model.

The guy who did my decals is called bedlam creations in Missouri.
If you do a Google search under decals for several guys all doing for you in the relatively inexpensive.
