Hello, I'm going to be putting K&K's into two new builds I'm working on. I thought about installing them onto the soundboard before I close the box, but then starting thinking about keeping the wires out of the way while drilling and reaming the pins. Anyone install these in advance like that? I think I can just bundle up the wires and tape them above the bridge plate. Should be fine, right? Brad |

The wires have a big enough loop so it is not hard to keep them out of the way. While finishing the instrument I secure the socket end with tape to the bridge pin to keep it from banging around. |

Do it now, for sure.imo, (unless you're really looking forward to sticking those things on through the soundhole) Ken |

The pin holes are a great reference for a precise installation. |

We prep for install prior to the body being closed for systems such as the Anthem or other PSA-mounted items that benefit from the area being shellacked, but the K&K elements are very sensitive to minor siting issues, so we do them after construction. |

"... but the K&K elements are very sensitive to minor siting issues, so we do them after construction." That would be my concern too. |

Placement is so important that I would always do it after the bridge is on. I noticed that the most recent instructions from K&K have you putting the high e transducer directly under the e string and the remainder as before between the pin holes. Their simple jig has always worked well for me. |

I agree with installing at the end. They install so easily with the jig that I would hate to be off on the placement. |
