Shell work and CNC carved neck blank by Andy Birko. Really like Andy’s work.

Big thumbs up for that one Mike!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Nice! Would love a set of ABW. First 15K commission I may pay the price.

Danny, ABW is way more affordable than that. I just got to be willing to work for a dollar per hour. I am. Keeps me in the Black.

Btw, thank u all. Everything, and I mean everything I know about guitar building was learned here. This kind of stuff doesn’t happen over night. So u new guys, hang in there and take the advice and criticisms. Stay calm. know when to walk away and know when to ask for advice. There are some amazing pros here. Figure it out. And, this is most important, accept failure. It’s ok, u learn from it.
