Anyone know where I can purchase EIR backs only? I need 5 backs because I have 5 laminated side sets but no backs for them. Actually even better and probably would be cheaper would be a QS EIR billet that I can resaw. Everywhere I look online are sets only. Regards. |

I've ordered from Vikwood occasionally over the years and they've always been fine. They sell backs separately. http://www.vikwood.com/index.php?route= ... h=62_73_75 |

There is more than one of the forum sponsors who could probably sort you out quite easily. I’ve made this sort of request to tonewood dealers in the past, including 2 of the forum sponsors and they’re pretty good about helping out. Just send an email with your needs. You may not see photos beforehand, but you should at least be able to describe general colour, grade, etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

They have lots of kits to offer and various parts but I don't see individual wood items like backs and sides unless part of a kit. Am I looking in the wrong place? |

You probably won't be able to get a billet of EIR, regulations in India prohibit the international sale of EIR lumber. Backs and sides are considered veneers, and fretboards are considered musical instrument parts. The idea is trees grown in India should be milled in India. |

You must do it the old-fashioned way. Call Martin, ask for Guitarmaker's Connection. Gail is the primary contact. I was just there on Monday, and saw the listings posted on the wall. |
