So I got this email from Taylor, I’m sure many of you did too, about some great innovation coming later this month.
Anyone have an idea as to what it is?
In listening to the background music it sounds like a tonewood amp.... surely to goodness they haven’t teamed with those guys... just doesn’t seem “Taylor like” to me... but who knows..
Any stabs at it ?

It could be some of the other ebony products that Bob talked about while being interviewed by Jason Verlinde on the Fretboard Journal podcast.

They are finding other uses for the Ebony that isn’t instrument grade that his mill is producing.

He mentioned salt and pepper shakers, cutting boards, etc....

I don't have a clue. I was surprised to see them do an arm bevel.

I'm just glad Taylor doesn't have my email.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Andy Powers will be taking the drivers seat at Taylor.

I spoke with a Taylor dealer just before the holidays as I was looking at a 914ce. The dealer told me it was discontinued and that Taylor was coming out with a new bracing design that Andy has been working on for some time. I believe it will be on the higher end models. I guess we will find out for sure on the 25th.

To me, it kinda looked like the back braces on the back he is looking at were rounded, which looked like they may go to un-tucked back braces... Do they tuck back braces currently?
