Our Iwatas - including our older RG-6 - behave well with nitrocellulose. The current Kustom ($200-$550), High Performance Plus (~$200) and Hi-Line (~$250) series (we have a High Line HP-CS that I really like using for touch-up work on repairs) have PTFE/Teflon needle packings specifically for solvent-based material. The Harder Steenbeck Infinity line also is equipped with solvent-resistant PFTE seals. A safe bet is to look for specific mention of solvent compatibility before buying, and if not mentioned, verify PTFE seals and packing, versus rubber, which can degrade in strong solvents like lacquer thinner. Coast Airbrush is a decent source of information and carries a wide variety of airbrushes. |

Fuji 9622 Touch-Up Spray Gun may be worth a look if you already have a Fuji system - I have one myself. |

Harbor Freight had (has?) a little gravity feed touch up gun that worked O.K. for nitro. They had a 3 or 4 oz. metal cup They were about $15. I bought a couple for spraying bursts. |

Mr. O'Melia: Were you inquiring about a touch up gun (i.e., a smaller spray gun usually used for either small projects or touch-ups on larger jobs) or an airbrush? If looking for something to shoot bursts or other fine work, the T-75G can be tweaked to handle the work (dial back fan width, get the right air cap set, and control air and material). For touching up color work (dings/holidays) or for very small areas, an airbrush will work well. Bridging the gap between spray gun and airbrush are pistol grip airbrushes with larger capacity cups. The jamb gun mentioned earlier in the thread is a nice little touch-up gun and inexpensive. The jamb gun and a decent pancake compressor with hose set should run not much more than the Fuji turbine detail gun. |

The HF spray gun I was refering to was what they call a "mini detail spray gun". www.harborfreight.com/adjustable-detail ... 92126.html It is smaller than the typical jamb gun and more like a badger 400. It will spray heavier materials than an air brush. It's good enough to do touch ups and bursts but you wouldn't want to have to do heavy top coats with it. |

Not yet actually. I bought it to use for a matt finish neck if I was using a gloss on the body with the main gun, which I've not done yet. |

Thank you! Bigger than I had envisioned. But from what I’ve read it has a small pattern. |
