Does anyone have access to a photo of a jig to resaw thin veneers from a round hardwood circle . I received about 40 1 in thick exotic wood circles most are about 3.5in in diameter. I would like to turn these into future rosettes. A bandsaw jig would be the way to go . Want to saw them to abt 2 mm or 3/32 in. Any one have suggestions pics or resources ?? thanks |

Never re-sawed wooden circles into slices but would be tempted to try gluing one to a flat board/block before putting it to a blade. |

That's what I've done to cut slices with my table saw. I cut so that the slice falls to the waste side of the blade, not between the blade and the fence. Alex |

If you cut them in half first it would give you a flat side to run against the bandsaw table. |

Where did those come from? I'm trying to think who would make a 3.5dia x 1" thick circle. Furniture feet? Turning blank for really small bowls? |

They are from a deceased woodworkers collection. it is a whole circle block . He made furniture. Thanks , for the tips I will try gluing a scrap of paper to a larger block and crosscut them on a small craftsman bandsaw |
