HI folks, I post on the OLF with some regularity and I thought it might be nice to show my face and introduce my family, my wife, Cynthia and our cat, Mitzi (alias "Trouble Maker", among other names...). The photo was taken by a song writer friend of mine that I play with in a little band. (I sure look older than I used to...) She came over to record a song in my home studio that is to be used by another writer friend of hers for his book (kinda hard to explain). She played my mahogany OOO 12 fret shown in the photo in the recording. My contribution was the recording production and playing my 1937 Epiphone Electar Lap Steel Guitar. Check out the recording... https://soundcloud.com/sdsollod/use-the-back-door |

Pleased to meet your Family, and to hear your friend singing that beautiful song so well. Season's greetings to you and yours. (Tigger's getting into a festive mood....) |

Nice recording. Just one question... How did you get that kitty to look right into the camera like that? |

Mitzi is very curious and was interested in our visitor, but otherwise, it was just lucky timing. What I'd like to know is how Colin got Tigger to cooperate with wearing the costume AND looking at the camera... I'm pleased with the sound of this guitar. ...and the recording. Of course it doesn't hurt to have a good song writer and player. I rarely take out the lap steel, but, for the right song I think it adds a haunting sound. |
