I recently got a really nice amazon rosewood ukulele set, that, while it has been air dried for 5 years, I am still concerned about warpage. What species of wood should I use for stickers when stacking wood? I don't want to accidentally stain the rosewood with a species high in tannins. |

Personally I would not bother stickering it in that condition. If you do, keep it away from sunlight. If you don't then just put something heavy on top of it. Actually, even if stickering, put something heavy on it. |

I bought a bunch of paint sticks from a place called Henry's Best who is also an Amazon retailer. They are unmarked so there shouldn't be any worries about long term exposure for the wood. Just a thought. |

I just cut up a bunch of 7/16" Baltic Birch into strips. I always stickered new wood for at least six months in my shop before using. After acclimating, it can be stacked. Do you have your shop at 42-45% ? |

Quote: will hard maple do? Yes. I use white fir, which was sourced from 2 X 4's. IMHO, there is no need to sticker after the wood is acclimated with the environment. With thin wood that is seasoned, that only takes a week or two. |
