How thick is the bridge plate? It looks thick. I hardly noticed the knot in the neck.

For some reason there was a paragraph of text which did not show up, even tried to edit twice This is a gift for a friend who collects mermaid stuff. 60th b-day Size 00, bolt on M&T with barrel nuts, Tru-oil. Sapele, Englemann, H. Mahogany neck with wenge and curly maple. Curly maple binding with endgrain zebrawood and abalone putfling. This is my first attempt at inlay, very slow and frustrating, but worked out okay I experimented with pinning and gluing the UTB to a foot on the neck block. I feel this will provide substantial support for the neck. Please feel free to critique. Guitarwise, I think this is my best effort so far. Binding went really well, neck fit and angle very good and aside from the rosette no screw ups. Thanks to all the members who take the time to answer questions and share their knowledge, and to those who ask the questions I never think of. All my successes are due to the folks here. B |

Danny, using Schaller tuners. The bridge plate is E. beech, around .120+-. The angle and the radius edge may make it appear thicker. Yeah, that knot started off as a pin dot. A few more pics. |

Very cool guitar with nice details. How does it sound? I notice the tonebar is the reverse of the usual orientation. Is this a lefty guitar or is it in that direction for another reason? |

I lost count on the coats, 25-30 with the last 2 thinned ~25%. 3-4 coats a day. Build 4-5 coats sand, 4-5 more sanding finer each time 400-2000. Final buff with 3m finesse. Wax coat of maguiers. 0000 steel wool for the neck. |
