I've been a fan of Sinker Redwood for years now. Like all Redwood, it can vary but I've had really good luck with it. I'm up to about 50 sets in my stockpile that are true Mastergrade quality. So I'm pretty much set for the rest of my building career (since only about 10% of my guitars are Redwood). Rick Micheletti just contacted me to let me know they acquired a bit more. You can purchase it at: http://www.luthierscooltools.com/Sinker_Gallery.htm There isn't too much of this stuff left. Most of what I see available is not the quality that I would want to build with. They currently have some very nice sets available. I thought I would give you all a heads up in case you've been looking for some nice Sinker Redwood. Pat, that was presented really clearly and concisely, something I always appreciate. |

Interesting, and nice to see some more is available. I like the stuff too. Thankfully I bought my stash very early on and I have very stiff, but consistently chocolate colored tops, without all the streaking. That stuff disappeared from the market about a decade ago. Andy |

I was looking for sinker the other day and came across some nice sets called 'salvage redwood'. Not sure what it is but I bought some and I really like the looks and sound of it. |
