I/m debating whether to use this blade or not , it came with the LT 20 bandsaw, other than cutting very thin veneers, what can you use it for ? I got the RK blade but for resawing only. I want to get a general purpose blade . The woodmaster ct is popular. If you have a laguna BS which blades are you using ?? thanks. One of the reasons I ask is because I/ve read forums that say that the woodmaster CT carbide BS blades dull rapidly .I/ve finally figured out how to sharpen my carbon steel bandsaw blades and you can, resharpen them . It would be hard to resharpen the CT. I have a tri master carbide blade , and after spending 155$ on it. found out no one resharpens these very small teeth. Plus the blade does not cut straight after about 15 hrs of use bummer. Thanks

Has anyone bought/modified or made a bandsaw blade tooth setter for their machine(s)
I am tinkering with the notion of doing so.
This setter would roughly be for 3TPI to 1TPI blades
Hope some folk have done so
Why not have another reason to get one of those dial indicators [:Y:]

I don't think it's the Woodmaster CT you're talking about. It doesn't come any narrower than 1" so it's not a general purpose blade. I use them as resaw blades & they last a very long time.

For general purpose blades I use inexpensive flex back carbon steel blades, about 1/4" x 6 tpi with a skip tooth pattern. I find skip tooth blades much easier to control. You have to push a little harder but they cut in a straighter & smoother line even with a relatively coarse tooth pitch than regular tooth blades that self feed.

i/m using the 10 tpi carbon blade. slow but useful for veneers, I have the RKblade from laguna , . I would not want to reset so many teeth on a BS , too much work IMHO. I/ve done it on my german bow saws which use english and japanese saw sets. I usually set these for hdwds and a rip cut . One bow saw has a wide set strictly for ripping wet softwoods.

I have a friend nearby who has a bandsaw mill he/s frugal and resharpens, and sets his teeth for milling logs often, using a homemade cheap grinder , set up to cut and set blades . Check lumberjocks or a similiar sawmill forum for plans .He gets his blades carbon steel from bandsaw blade express in pevely MO.
