A local luthier had posted a shop sale on Craig's List for last Saturday at 9AM. I got there at 9:10 and almost everything was gone
He was a very well accomplished maker of violins and cello's mostly, that sort of thing. After 40 years he retired and sold all his tools. I scored some pretty neat chisels and a round bottom plane and also a really cool shooting board that he had built along with some cam clamps and a few other things.
Anyway they sold me this hygrometer for $1 dollar so I couldn't refuse. I can't seem to find much info on them on the Net. But I tested it with my psycro-dyne and it was only 3 points off so I calibrated it. I figured a luthier of his caliber would have a reliable instrument in his shop and it will continue on in mine for hopefully many years to come.
